In the context of banner advertising, we only use pseudonymised data; cookies do not contain any readable text information about your data (e.g. name or email address).

More information on cookies, pixels and retargeting can be found in sections 3 and 6 of this policy.

3. Cookies

Acceptance of cookies is not a prerequisite for browsing our pages. However, we would like to point out that our website and services have limited functionality if we are not permitted to place cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are stored on your data carrier and that store certain settings and data for exchange with our systems via your browser. In principle, we distinguish between two types of cookies: so-called session cookies, which are deleted as soon as your browser is closed, and permanent/temporary cookies, which are stored for an extended or indefinite period on your data carrier. We need to do this in order to be able to set up the pages on our website and our proposals in a way that is best suited to you and thus make it easier for you to use them, for example by storing certain settings, so that it is not necessary to repeat them each time.

What types of cookies does woodillon.it use?

Most of the cookies we use are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of your browser session (that’s why they are called session cookies). Session cookies are used, for example, to provide you with a multi-page shopping cart function. We also use cookies that remain on your hard drive. On subsequent visits, we automatically recognise that you have already been to our site and which settings and data you prefer. These temporary or permanent cookies (lasting from 1 month to 10 years) are stored on your hard drive and are deleted by you when the set time expires. In particular, these cookies are used to make our offer more user-friendly, efficient and secure for consumers. For example, these files can be used to display information on the website that has been selected individually according to your interests. The sole purpose of these cookies is to tailor our offer as closely as possible to the wishes of our customers and to make your visit to our website as comfortable as possible.

What data is stored in cookies?

Only pseudonymised data is used in the cookies used by Woodillon. The activation of cookies is accompanied by an identification code and there is no link between your personal data and this identification code. Your name, IP address or similar data, which may allow you to be traced directly from the cookie to you, is not entered into the cookie. On the basis of the cookie technology we only obtain pseudonymised information, e.g. regarding the pages of our site have been visited, the products have been examined etc..

Are there also third-party cookies?

woodillon.co.uk uses a number of advertising partners to help make its Internet offering and website pages more attractive to you. So when you visit our website you also have the storage of cookies of partner companies on your hard drive. These are temporary or permanent cookies that are automatically deleted after the set time has elapsed. These temporary or permanent cookies (lasting from 14 days to 10 years) are stored on your hard drive and are deleted on their own after the set time has elapsed. Cookies from partner companies also contain only pseudonymised or even anonymised data. These are, for example, data about which products you have examined, whether you have purchased something, which products you have searched for, etc. Some of our advertising partners therefore also collect information beyond the websites on the pages you have previously visited or on which products you are interested in, in order to be able to display advertising that best suits your interests.

To this end, our websites use retargeting technologies. We use these technologies to make the Internet offer more attractive to you. This technology allows us to contact internet users who are already interested in our shop and products on our partners’ websites. We are convinced that the display of customised and interest-related advertising is generally more attractive to the internet user than advertising without such references. The display of advertising media on our partners’ pages is based on cookie technology and analysis of previous usage behaviour. This form of advertising is completely pseudonymised.

If you use our pages, cookies are inserted and data on your use is collected, stored and used with them. In addition, your data is also stored after the end of the session with your browser so that it can be retrieved, for example, during your next visit to our website.

How do you exclude the storage of cookies?

You can only set the option in your browser to accept cookies if you agree and thus prevent the further storage of cookies in the future. If you wish to accept cookies from woodillon.co.uk but not from other service providers and partners, you can choose the “Block third-party cookies” setting in your browser.

Normally the help function in the toolbar of your web browser explains how to refuse new cookies and make existing ones ineffective.

4. Log files

Each time you access the woodillon.it website, usage data is transmitted by your Internet browser and stored in log files, so-called web server log files. The data sets stored in this process contain the following data: date and time of the call, name of the called site, IP address, referrer URL (URL of the site from which you arrived at the site in question), the amount of data transmitted, as well as information about the products and version of the browser used.

We process these logfile data sets to improve and make the woodillon.it Shop more usable, to identify and remove errors more quickly and to manage server capacity. At the same time, we use logfile data sets to reject attacks on our shop woodillon.co.uk, for example within the framework of so-called distributed denial of service services, which aim to block our servers by overloading them with requests.

5. Web analysis

In order to continuously improve and optimise our offer, we use so-called tracking technologies. For this purpose, we use the services of Google Analytics and Webtrekk.

5.1 Google Analytics

This website uses Google (Universal) Analytics, a web analysis service offered by Google Inc. (www.google.de). Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods that allow an analysis of your use of the website, such as so-called cookies, text files that are stored on your computer. The information generated about your use of the website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website in the EU member states and other signatory states to the Convention on the European Economic Area, your IP address will be shortened before it is transmitted. Only in exceptional cases will your full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA. The anonymised IP address transmitted by your browser to Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data.

You can prevent the collection and transmission of data generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google as well as its transmission via Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=it.

As an alternative to the browser plug-in you can click on this link to prevent detection by Google Analytics on this website. Doing so will install an opt-out cookie on your terminal device. If you delete your cookies, you must click on the link again.

7. Retargeting and third-party data collection for banner advertising

In the context of retargeting and banner advertising, we use the services of third parties who place cookies on our website. These are the following companies for this activity:

– Doubleclick by Google, Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/technologies/ads/

– Nugg.ad GmbH, Rotherstr. 16, 10245 Berlin, Germany; https://www.nugg.ad/en/privacy/general-information.html

– Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA; https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy

8. Secure data transmission

We transmit your personal data securely via encryption. Of course, this also applies to your order and customer login. We use the TLS (Transport Layer Security) or SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption system.

In addition, we protect our websites and other systems by means of technical measures against the loss, destruction, access, tampering or disclosure of your data by unauthorised persons.
